KIPP: Believe Primary

KIPP: Believe Primary is a K-4 school in New Orleans, LA. They opened their doors this school year with their first class of kindergartners.

"It’s really nice, especially for other people, whether that be the social worker or the special education coordinator, to see the behavior of each child as a whole, not just academics, but also character.”
-Felix L.,
Kindergarten teacher
"We were wasting a lot of time creating different trackers... This is a much more effective way that models the urgency that we want to see in our classrooms.”
-Sarah Beth G.,
School Leader
The Soulsville Charter School

The Soulsville Charter School is a middle and high school in Memphis, TN. It welcomed its first class in 2005.

"Consistency, in my thinking, is the most important thing when you’re teaching middle school students."
- Matt C.,
Middle school teacher
"Kickboard is kind of like the lifeline of our school. I’m not sure what we would do without Kickboard."
- Meagan T.,
Dean of High School Students
"It's revolutionized our culture - not in that we've changed that much but just by adding that Kickboard component to it."
- Thomas U.,
Dean of Middle School Students

Teacher-Driven Product Development

"If you’re serious about developing high-impact tools for teachers, you need to be serious about understanding how teachers work. There’s no better way to do this than observing teachers in their classes.”
-Jen Medbery,
Founder and CEO, Kickboard

Step 1: School Visit

In March, we spent a day observing and talking with the teachers at a primary school to learn more about their needs.

Step 2: Rapid Prototyping

“We just sat there and were able to literally draw out the interface of what the new webpage would look like. And it took a total of 15 minutes, as well.”

Step 3: User Testing

After we finished prototyping the new Daily Activity Page, we tested the new feature with teachers to make sure it met their needs.
